SHORT HISTORY: EVELINE

Eveline sitting looking out the window, watching as people passed by and remembered very close to home was a field in which she and her neighbors brothers played when they were young they used to be very happy, but now a man bought and built houses at that time his father was not bad and their mama was still alive.

She and her siblings were grown, her mother had died, his father had become violent and abusive before he did not do it as with Harry and Ernest because she was a girl, and some of their neighbors were dead and others had gone to England, and she was thinking of leaving home to go and where for many years she had lived, eveline think much if it was wise to leave your home and would have to work very hard, also thought about what people might think of her if she went with a man without even marry Harry died later was engaged ernest decorate churches, eveline argued a lot with his father because he did not add anything in the house, Eveline had a hard life because she had to take care about children and keep house, so she thought go and leave home.

He wanted to go with Frank, I thought about going out on the boat at night, wanted to try another life to be his wife and live in Buenos Aires. As expected his father found out and banned him continue their relationship, so they were in hiding.

Eveline made two cards one for Frank and one for his brother, his father had aged and behaved well, thinking of the promise he had made to his mother being in the house while he could. Suddenly he found himself in a large crowd on the pier he had her by the hand, I could see the boat in the distance and thought if I was doing was right, at that moment the ship gave a strong puff which meant we had to board the ship, she kept thinking if I could retract, then let go of the hand of Frank and returned home.

 BIOGRAPHY OF JAMES JOYCE

He was born in Dublin, on February 2, 1882. His parents were John Stanislaus Joyce and Mary Jane Murray. His family was composed of several brothers and sisters. In 1907 Joyce suffered his first attack of iritis, severe eye disease that almost led to his blindness.
Irish poet, James Joyce is regarded as one of the great writers in the English language of the 20th century, being his novel Ulysses (1922) a works most influential in the history of literature.

 WORKS

The first literary success it had when I was a college student with the article, 'The new drama of Ibsen'. His first book, Chamber music (1907), contains 36 poems of love, reflecting the influence of the Elizabethan lyric poetry and the lyric poets of the late 19th century. His second book is a collection of 15 short stories called Dubliners (1914). These stories are sorted in a series that goes from childhood and adolescence, until public life (in Dublin).
Joyce had international fame in 1922 with the publication of Ulysses, a comic epic based on Homer's Odyssey.
Finnegan’s Wake (1939), his last and most complex work, is an attempt to represent a cyclical theory of history in fiction. In this work combines English with words in multiple languages.

SOCIAL CONTEXT

The XX century this among the years 1901 and 2000. It was the last century of the II millennium. It was characterized by the advances of the technology; medicine and science in general; end of the slavery in the developed countries; the woman's liberation in most of the countries; this crisis has the following effects: World wars; the genocide, the politicians of social rejection, unemployment and poverty. As consequence, here there are inequalities in the social development, I develop economic, I develop technological, the wealth of the countries, and the differences of conditions of the inhabitants' of the different regions of the world life. In the last years of the century, in 1989-1991 globalizations phenomenon begins

 THESIS

In Eveline, the first of the stories of the book starring young, are issues related to women, the role she had, Joyce along Dublin makes a difference between the behaviour of men and women in the Dublin of the time.
Man, is more linked to life outside the home and women has its space in the House, with different responsibilities and tasks.
The protagonist of this story plans to escape with her boyfriend, which the society would consider a scandal and a shame. Eveline plans his life, thinks about the few possibilities of being happy in Ireland and wants to escape. However, at the end, perhaps for not be able to deliver from the Catholic religion of the society, decides to stay and let go of her only boyfriend to Buenos Aires, she ends up accepting a sustained life, as promoted Roman Catholicism, taking the role given to women at that time be example of bliss and serve to Catholicism.

He is can also speak in relation to this story on emigration in Ireland of century principles, which started since 1945 by poor harvests, taking America as a destination. These migrations were notable until 1929, which were reduced by the great depression.
Linking the history of Eveline with the life of its author, that migration occurred due to the lack of hope and opportunities.

THE AUTHOR THAT SOUGHT WITH THE BOOK?

James Joyce was an important writer in the century xx, the one wanted that the romanticism was a form to know that in some situations people should choose road between two. Eveline had two roads to choose. She prefers to go with their family; she didn't have words to explain their answer. She wanted to leave with him, but she was thinking of their family. She should be pending of their family and her he/she didn't want to have a better life. This history represents the romanticism but also the ant romanticism because Eveline was not sure of its feelings. She in some moments was happy but she decided to live their life as always.
